With almost 160 years of fascinating history, Clarendon Hills is an inviting town located just 18 miles west of the Loop in downtown Chicago. Ranked the #1 Best Place to Live in Illinois and #1 Best Suburb to Live in Illinois by Niche.com in 2022, Clarendon Hills is understandably a sought-after community. Offering beautiful homes, charming businesses, and warm, welcoming citizens, it’s no surprise just how many families want to live in Clarendon Hills.

Founded in the 1870s and originally used as a milk stop by farmers, Clarendon Hills became an incorporated residence in 1924. Today, Clarendon Hills has roughly 8,700 residents and over 100 businesses in the thriving community. The Village offers a high quality of life, including low crime rate, top-rated schools, high average home values, and a vibrant downtown that also serves as a Metra commuter stop.

Clarendon Hills has a thriving and active community, with many highly anticipated annual events. These include the Farmers Market, Dancin’ in the Street, Daisy Days, Oktoberfest, as well as the annual Holiday Walk and tree lighting ceremony. Favorite restaurants include Il Mio for Italian cuisine, Thassos for Greek fare, Brama La Pizza for some of the best pizzas around, and the newly-opened Wasabi Restaurant & Bar for sushi and Asian fusion dishes.

A unique feature of Clarendon Hills is the local distillery and coffee shop, Tierra Distilling Co. Running as a coffee shop and café during the day, and a bar and whiskey distillery in the afternoons and evenings, Clarendon Hills is very fortunate to have Tierra as a pillar in the community. Since the current Clarendon Hills Starbucks will be leaving the town this summer, Tierra will serve as the only local coffee shop.

Another incredible advantage of living in Clarendon Hills are the highly-rated schools. With public schools including two elementary, one middle and one high school (shared with Hinsdale – Hinsdale Central High School), Clarendon Hills also has several private schools for consideration. Families appreciate the attention and care their students receive, while also having the opportunity to get involved in such a welcoming community. We often hear parents express how grateful they are to raise their children in Clarendon Hills, and a large component of this is the educational and extracurricular experiences available to their children.
