Interior Design Trends & Home Staging that Can Sell Your Home Faster & For More

Fresh, Neutral Paint

We always recommend creating a clean, neutral space within your home prior to listing. A simple, low-cost way of transforming the interior of your home can be as simple as a fresh coat of paint on the walls.

While many swear by the ability of Sherwin Williams’ Repose Gray to set a neutral backdrop that enchants potential buyers…there’s a new trend on the horizon: white walls. A soft white like White Dove by Benjamin Moore offers a blank canvas for potential buyers’ imagination without being too stark.

Believe in the Power of Staging

For sellers who aren’t currently living in the home, I usually recommend having the empty home professionally staged. This gives buyers walking through a true sense of how the house can become a home.

In fact, staging can have more than an emotional impact on buyers…it can actually impact their buying decisions. In 2019, the National Association of Realtors asserted that the potential return on every $100 invested in home staging is $400. The association also stated that 53% of seller's agents say staging decreased a property’s time on the market. So, staging = selling.

Don’t Forget About Curb Appeal

Clean up the garden beds, paint the front door, toss down a friendly welcome mat, prune the trees on the property…these are all small ways to increase the wow factor for buyers who approach your home and get them interested before they even walk in the front door.

Compass Concierge is the no-interest, hassle-free way to sell your home faster and for a higher price. This program, exclusive to Compass, fronts you on the cost of home improvement services to maximize the value of your home prior to listing with services like staging, flooring, painting, landscaping, and more.

Here’s How It Works:

  • I will work directly with you to decide which services can increase your home’s value the most and set an estimated budget for the work.
  • When you’re ready to start, I will be by your side as you engage vendors and commission work.
  • Once the transformation is complete, your home will go on the market.
  • You’ll pay for the services when one of the following happens — your home sells, you terminate your listing agreement with Compass, or 12 months pass from your Concierge start date.
