Scary Friday 13th Is the Night History Meets Culinary Treasures in Clarendon Hills!

The Clarendon Hills Historical Society Culinary Treasures event is this Friday the 13th! This second annual event is a fund raiser for the Historical Society. Raising money to help educate, preserve history, artifacts from the Middaugh Mansion and fixing the building located at Ann and Sheridan Ave is the goal. Clarendon Hills is a special place to live and to get a chance embrace it’s history seems like a good thing to do. I went to the event last year which was hosted at the old pharmacy building (before that it was a bank) at 34 S Prospect and was amazed by the artistry of food prepreation and the delicious wines. This year it is being held at the Clarendon Hills Park District building located at 315 Chicago Ave. See below for a menu and some of the samplings. Tickets are $50 each. The committee members left me plenty of tickets so if you want to go, stop into my office at 5 S Prospect Ave. in Clarendon Hills.

The 2010 Culinary Treasures event was a smashing success, and the 2011 Culinary Treasures event is only going to be better!

The cost is going to remain the same this year, at $50 per-person, but we are moving to a new venue, the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Room located at 315 Chicago Ave! It is a much bigger venue than last year, and we will have more music, more delicious food and wine, dozens of silent auction items, and more fun, all at the same price!

Culinary delicacies and wine pairing will be provided by All Wined Up and Village Gourmet. Chocolate desserts, including a chocolate fountain, will be provided by D’s Berries.

Here is our menu for the evening. It is even better than last year (we didn’t think it was possible!), and features some incredible culinary inventions by the folks over at Village Gourmet!
