Westmont
A charming village located in DuPage County is home to almost 30,000 residents. Westmont is a rather small community of approximately 6 sq miles and is located not far from Chicago. Until 1933, when the United States government paid a stipend to them to move, Westmont’s original residents were the Potawatomi Indians.
During the early years of Westmont's history, the village changed from an agricultural area to a more commercial area. The growth and change centered, as in many villages, on the railroad.
Westmont has grown into a flourishing commercial center. Several top firms such as Ty Corporation are headquartered in Westmont.
Lots of activities are held each in the Village as well as it is home to several, upscale restaurants.
Each year, Taste of Westmont is held during the summer months; it offers family-friendly rides, live bands and music throughout each day, and of course, the delicious treats offered by the many Village restaurants such as Uncle Bub's bar-b-que, Dolce Pizzeria & Wine Bar, Vincitori Italian restaurant, Amber Cafe, Absolutely Delicious, Bishops Famous Chili, China Chef, Golden Basket and many more.
The Village also celebrates the 4th of July in style with a terrific display of fireworks to honor the 4th of July. This traditional event is held in the ever-popular Ty Warner Park. This popular park boasts a splash park and a tremendous play area for all ages.
