What Do You Love Most About Your Home?

If you take a moment to step back and reflect on your home, what comes to mind? Is it your family room where you curl up for family movie nights and gatherings with friends? Or is it your backyard, with a grill for summer barbecues and a fire-pit for s’mores in the Fall? During this month of thanksgiving, it’s important to take time to recognize what means the most to us and what we appreciate about our living spaces.

Myself, my favorite area of my home is the outdoor oasis we’ve created for our family’s enjoyment. This special area includes a pool, outdoor kitchen and fireplace, and a well-crafted stonework patio that provides a covered area for family and friends to gather. We love to host events where people can come and relax in this space. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my loved ones enjoying our outdoor oasis…a space that I also love so much. From family parties and summer swims to bonfires and evenings with friends, I am thankful for this outdoor area and all of the joy it provides.

In recent conversations with buyers about their “wish lists” for their homes, I’ve noticed a few themes. First and foremost, people are also looking for a quality outdoor space. Similar to my favorite area of my home, many homebuyers also want to have an oasis where they can relax and enjoy quality time with loved ones. After the outdoor space, I’ve heard buyers share that they are looking for a home office, spacious primary suite, and plenty of square footage. Especially given the current pandemic climate, it is not surprising that homebuyers are seeking homes where they can have a dedicated workspace while also plenty of room to relax and spread out as a family.

Finally, I’ve heard homebuyers share that the neighborhood they are moving to is also of the utmost importance. I believe this is true, as I myself am fortunate enough to have wonderful neighbors. If you are also one of those people who have fantastic neighbors that make home life even more enjoyable, consider nominating them for my “Neighbor of the Year” contest. This contest is a way for our community to recognize and celebrate one another and acknowledge the value that neighbors bring. If you have a neighbor that you believe should be recognized let me know about them by submitting this short form. You can also learn more on my social media pages. Be sure to check back the day before Thanksgiving, as we’ll be announcing the winner (picked at random) and gifting them a gift card to a new local restaurant, Il Mio. We look forward to your participation!

In this season of gratitude, I encourage you to take a moment to stop and think about what you love about your home. Think about your space and all that it allows you to do. Think too about the people in your home, as well as your neighbors. I hope you are able to find many positive things about your spaces and the people who fill them. I wish all of you a happy and joyful Thanksgiving season, and know-how appreciative I am for your continued business, referrals, and support!
