Every summer since 2000, the Village of Clarendon Hills hosts a summer concert series on Wednesday evenings called Dancin’ in the Street. For years, Mike McCurry Group has been a stage sponsor of this event.
We sponsor and invest in this local experience not because we are music lovers (we are), or because we love the beer tent (we do), or even because it’s good for business (it can be)…we do it because we value community. Without sponsors like us, this amazing opportunity for residents to come together (for free!) wouldn’t be possible. And as a Clarendon Hills resident, I just won’t stand for that!
Dancin’ in the Street is more than a concert series. It’s a community cornerstone. Clarendon Hills is a small but committed community of incredible people. It’s why my wife Amy and I chose it as the place to raise our four children. It’s why I decided to specialize in Clarendon Hills/Hinsdale real estate – so I could introduce even more people to this tucked-away pocket of suburban bliss. I LOVE this community. And Dancin’ in the Street is a prime example of what our community values: each other.
Local restaurants, musicians, friends, family, and neighbors all come together and gather on Prospect Avenue right in downtown Clarendon Hills each week to enjoy the simple pleasures of being together. We dance. We eat and drink. We talk. We catch up with old friends and we make new ones.
And, there’s something about this particular event that is even more magical this year (after we had to stay apart last year). Not knowing what to expect, we set up our table on July 7th for the first concert of the 2021 series. Not sure why I doubted it, it was because the community showed up in full force. They showed up to dance, smile, and laugh – together. And it was beautiful. So beautiful that we wanted to document it and share this special memory with everyone, whether you were able to be there or not!
